Product reviews

I try to buy the “right” product as often as I can. Sometimes “right” mean inexpensive, sometimes high quality, sometimes fit for purpose, and sometimes it just looks good.

When I think of something I’d like to purchase, here are the steps:

  1. Check out Amazon to see the reviews. Other online retailers are also part of the research. BestBuy for electronics, GoodReads for books, etc.
  2. If I can find it locally, I might go take a look at it in the store.
  3. Purchase it.

However, the best reviews aren’t always by people that buy the product. Sometimes you need an independent reviewer. My preference is Wirecutter (while not as independent as they used to be, still awesome). Wirecutter is a modern and more diverse version of Consumer Reports.
